Classroom Tidbits
Here is just some general information about our classroom:
Take Home Folders:
Each student should have a homework folder which they take home each night. This folder will also have any other papers that need to be sent home before Thursday Folders are sent home.
Thursday Folders:
Every Thursday, students will bring home their white envelope with information from the school and/or the PTO. Please empty the content of the envelope, sign the front, and have your child return it to the school on Friday.
Behavior:
Along with the school's behavior system, we will also have our own positive behavior system in our classroom. I will be looking for students who are on task and displaying good character. Students caught making great choices will be rewarded on an individual basis. If the class as a whole is working well together, there will be rewards for the entire class! Should there be any incidents, I will deal with them on a case by case basis.
Homework:
The students will have no more than an hour of homework each night. At least 15 minutes of this hour will be independent reading. Additionally, the students will have word study work each night. Homework related to Math, Social Studies, and Science will vary depending on what we are studying.
Snack:
Due to allergies in class, we may not have snack to insure that our classroom is a healthy learning environment for all.
Birthdays:
Students can bring in a non-edible birthday treats to share with the entire class on their birthday, if they wish.
Volunteer Opportunities:
We would love for parents to get involved and help out in our class! If you would like to volunteer in our classroom, email me and I will let you know what times are best for you to come in!
